With infiltrations and epidural injections we can treat the pain where it is localized.
With a fine needle the necessary amount of medication is injected where the nerve root is irritated, thus reducing the pain in a short term basis. Epidural injections may solve the problem on a long term basis, but sometimes they have to be repeated. We do not recommend to do more than 6 epidurals a year and no more than 1 radiofrequency treatment at the same level of the spinal cord. If the pain recurs a therapy with a better long term effect might be necessary.
